Hancock County Multi-Disciplinary Team

Hancock County has a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to coordinate investigation and treatment of serious child abuse and neglect cases in Hancock County. The team was created in 2004 and serves as a policy maker for the Hancock County Center for Safe and Healthy Children with respect to child maltreatment and responses. The purpose of the MDT is to establish policies for the Center for Safe and Healthy Children and the involved agencies in working with children who are alleged abused and neglected. The MDT members agree to meet at a minimum quarterly to review policy and procedures.

The MDT will include the following procedures:

  • Case Review
  • Tracking and Monitoring of Cases
  • Forensic Interviewing
  • Victim’s Assistance
  • Mental Health
  • Additional Services as Determined on a Case-By-Case Basis
