Findlay ranks near the top among Ohio communities in a survey rating towns’ “livability” based on housing, neighborhood, transportation, environment, health, engagement and opportunity.
Of 248 Ohio towns, Findlay tied with 15 others for 21st place in the survey, developed by the American Association of Retired Persons. Findlay’s overall livability score was 57. Others with a 57 score included Bluffton, Wapakoneta, Fremont, Piqua and Bryan.
Findlay’s highest score, 76, was for the opportunities it provides, particularly economic and educational opportunities.
In engagement, including civic and social engagement, Findlay scored 62.
In housing affordability and access it scored 59.
In transportation, including safe and convenient options, it scored 56.
In health, including prevention, access and quality, Findlay scored 53.
Findlay’s lowest score, 40, was in environment, which examined air and water quality.
